Aimed at beginning graduate students, the Oregon Coast Math Camp is an intense, interdisciplinary immersion course on the techniques of applied mathematics most important for the natural sciences. The course is held at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, OR on the central Oregon coast. Students live at HMSC for the 1.5-week duration. Each day’s activities include a math lecture, a homework assignment and homework tutorial sessions. Also featured are daily science presentations and field trips focused on the natural history and diverse natural phenomena of the Oregon coast, including a science cruise aboard the R/V Elakha.
