Hi, I'm Bill Smyth. I grew up in Canada, and got my Ph.D. in physics at the University of Toronto. As a student, I was fascinated by chaos, which led me to study fluid turbulence. I specialize in theory and simulations, but I've also had the opportunity to do observational research as part of the Ocean Mixing Group at COAS.

<> When I'm not doing science, I try to be a musician. I write, record and perform in collaboration with my partner, Rita Brown.
We recently started a new rock project called The Flow
